Affordable Solar Panels Kits
Solar energy system for emergencies?
Ten years ago at my old house I put in a backup power system with 4 panels 12v 45 watts each, fed through a large inverter for backup power. At that time the Panels were 400 each (people said they’d get cheaper in the future) But Now i’ve searched everywhere, and Panels are like 800 dollars each. My question is: Is solar Power ever going to be affordable? I’m already having a hard time with loans that I have, so I need to find Panels (maybe a kit?) that I can afford. Doesanybody Know?
I have heard nothing but good things about panels from the following place. However, the “seconds” are not ul-listed, so won’t qualify for rebate programs in most places. Sounds like this isn’t a concern for you.

Some cheap panels are below, in the following link. But the cheapest ones are amorphous silicon – not known to last a long time. But if this system is for emergencies only, then maybe that’s what you want.
