Government Should Step in and…?

The government should really step in and help pollution in major cities!

They should install solar panels on EVERY building.

I mean, face it, major cities like NYC use up SO much energy. Probably more than 100 towns. Maybe I’m going overboard with that number.

What else should the government do to help cut costs and help the environment?

It’s up to you!
Well some people can’t afford to go Green. So the I think that the government should step in. People would be fine with it if they were saving money for the same things.

It would be a huge step in the right direction to start to do something. The problem is, as you notice if you start reading peoples Q+A , that people, such as yourself, come up with a solution but everybody shoots it down and no one has a solution but only tell’s you why it cant work. I think it is a great idea to put solar panels on the roofs of buildings, there a millions of little things that could be done, like more efficient street lights, a better public transport system in cities, and wind generators, and more wave generated power. (By the way, that would not be a hazard to shipping because it would not be built in major shipping lanes, would be marked on charts, lit up at night and also would stand out on radar. if a ship hit it then they should probably not be at sea.)
No one would go for this but imagine that there was a law that said you could not have a car over 3 meters long with a maximum of 900 cc, it would save billions of gallons of fuel, free up space on the roads and be easier to park in the citys. do we really need to go to the mall in a hummer?
And here is another one that they would not go for. Not to pump drinking water to the house. If you want drinking water you either filter it yourself or buy it in bottles. Billions of gallons of drinking water are flushed down the toilet and let out of the bath every day. I am not suggesting that it is a waste of drinking water, I think it is a waste of energy to process it, pump it to the house and then to wash in it when for a fraction of the cost we could wash in water that is not suitable for drinking, I mean lets face it how often do you drink your own bath water…?
There are hundreds of ways that would make a huge difference, I admit that the car one may seem a bit extreme but so is the condition of the environment, and someone has to do something…..and soon.
