Solar Panel Rental

charge tenants for solar energy?
right now, i pay for all the utilities for my tenants because there’s only one meter, instead of an individual meter for each tenant. if i were to put enough solar panels on my apartments in Los Angeles (city) to make them self-sufficient, could i then charge the tenants for power, like i could if they were individually metered?
*nothing in the rental contracts about who pays for utilities
*could i do it only for a new tenant, but not existing tenants?
*anything related :p
I doubt it. You would need a business license to sell the power and some way to measure what you are selling.
