Is it okay to replace a 6 amp breaker by 20 amp?

I live in Spain, where I purchased a property that runs on a generator and batteries. I employed “Solar Garbi” in Valencia to wire the entire house. he robbed me by charging over €6000 for the job which frankly is far from being up to standards.

After the job was done I discovered that if I use 2 items at one time the breaker would trip. When checking the reference it reads MOELLER CLS6-C6-MX which is a 6amps breaker, hence it trips all the time. the house has been wired for 4500 watts, if I were to change the breaker for a 20amp, would it be OK.

The guy told me (that I don’t want to contact anymore) that once I will upgrade with wind generator and solar panels I could up the breaker to ensure it does not take too much on the batteries.

Can I have some expert views on this please how what is the maximum breaker I could use?

Assuming 220 volts, the batteries and inverter may supply light loads with the generator starting when the voltage drops to about 215 volts. It is possible that the inverter and generator together can’t supply more than 10 amps. If so, one or both will shut down automatically with a 20 amp breaker supplying more than 10 amps. More likely the installer used a 6 amp breaker to induce you to give him more money for an upgrade of your system, which you may not need. Neil
